Complete the graded assignment for today.

Today we are going to start Section 6-3. This is the last new section that we are going to tackle before Easter. We will spend the rest of the time  before Easter practicing and becoming experts at the sections in Chapter 6 (1-3).

Please read Section 6.3 in your book and study the examples. Follow each example step by step. Try the guided practice problems in this section. Place them in your notebook. Be sure not to take shortcuts. List all of the steps for every problem in your notebook. Check your answers with the ones I posted in the stream of our Google classroom. Did you get the same answers? Comment in the stream section. Either tell me that you got the correct answers or ask me questions. It is okay to try the problems a few times before you get the correct answer. You should work for 45 minutes. After that, if you still can’t get the correct answers, send me some questions and let me know where you are having difficulties (in the stream). Be as specific as possible. Does the work you did look like the examples?  Comments in the stream section will earn you a participation grade.

Section 6.3:

Some of you didn’t send me any communication about your progress on  yesterday’s assignment (stream of Google Classroom). If you didn’t comment, please do so today. After a few attempts, did you master yesterday’s problems? If not, send me a picture of your work so I can see where you need help.

Today’s work: Check your understanding / p. 357. Place the problems in your notebook. Be sure not to take shortcuts. List all of the steps. (Examples 1 and 3 should help you with problems #1-4. Example 2 can help with #5 and Example 4 can help with #6.) Check your answers with the ones I posted in the stream of our Google classroom. Did you get the same answers? Comment in the stream section. Either tell me that you got the correct answers or ask me questions. It is okay to try the problems a few times before you get the correct answer. You should work for no more than 45 minutes. After that, if you still can’t get the correct answers, send me some questions and let me know where you are having difficulties (in the stream). Be as specific as possible. Does the work you did look like the examples in Section 6.3?  Can you do #1-4, but are struggling with the word problems? Feedback helps me help you. Comments in the stream section (required) will earn you a participation grade.

Now that you have done some practice work with Section 6.3 problems, it’s time for a graded assignment. The assignment can be found in Google Classroom.

Place all problem work in your notebook. Show the step by step process of solving each problem. Using your iPad, you should be able to take a picture of your work for the last problem. Please send me a picture of your work (as it appears in your notebook) for the last problem only (by email).

Let’s finish the week with a little more practice and challenge our brains with a word problem.

I know you hate word problems but at least try it. Take a picture of your work for #19. You will receive credit for coming up with a system of equations and solving them. As long as they make some sense, you will receive credit.
