SJHS seeks a full-time Food Service Director to insure that nutritious food is attractively served to the students in the school in accordance with the rules established by the U.S.D.A. for the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and by the Pennsylvania Department of Education regulations. The Director shall supervise, coordinate and assist with purchasing, preparation and serving of meals in an efficient and cost effective manner within the federal and state regulations.
Professional Qualifications
- 5-7 years’ experience in School Food Service Management or related Food Service Management position. (Culinary, Dietetics, and/or professional licensing preferred.)
- Demonstrated knowledge and application of food safety, HACCP, and food trends.
- Knowledge of the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) requirements and regulations.
- Experience in purchasing, budgeting, menu development, and inventory management.
- Maintain all PA Required clearances (Child abuse, Criminal, and FBI Fingerprinting)

- Ability to recognize areas of concern relating to food service and recommend appropriate solutions.

Key Responsibilities
- Develops menus for school breakfast and lunch program.
- Responsible for ensuring all meals and food prepared and served meet NSLP and other regulatory guidelines required.
- Ensure the cafeteria follows appropriate meal component rules for claiming meals per NSLP.
- Plan and supervises meal preparation and serving in accordance with government guidelines.
- Oversees meal counting and purchase tracking required by state and federal regulations using the systems in place such as POS and PEARS claiming and reporting.
- Seek, apply, and maintain appropriate records for available funding grants and rebates.
- Solicits student input regarding meal service

SJHS seeks a Part-Time Housekeeper for our Humanities Building. This position is Part-Time of 20 hours per week. Duties include: cleaning of lunchroom, restrooms, office spaces, and classrooms.
